Sørlandet at Las Palmas

Just before Christmas 2024, our workshop in Las Palmas received a very special guest—none other than the Norwegian tall ship, Skoleskipet Sørlandet! Who would have thought that this proud symbol of Southern Norway would drop anchor just outside our doorstep?
It was a great pleasure for the Vinje Industri team in Las Palmas to assist Sørlandet with a small welding job and a few spare parts. While the task itself wasn’t large, the experience was truly memorable.
“The job may have been minor,” says Project Manager Gabriell, “but it meant a lot to us to deliver quality service to a piece of Norwegian maritime heritage—especially so far from home.”
Alongside Gabriell, our skilled technician Alberto worked on the vessel, and both were proud to lend a hand. “It’s not every day you get to work on such a historic ship,” Alberto added with a smile.
